As I was looking for a horror story to cover, I came across something I hadn’t heard about it before.
It’s the « Mckamey Manor ».
It caught my attention for being twisted, mysterious and strange. You are probably asking what even is Mckamey Manor ?
According to many ressources, Mckamey Manor is the scariest and extreme haunted house you can legally visit in the USA . Although, the legality of some of the things which are happening inside of it is questionable. To not keep you wondering any longer. It’s a place you can sign up to live your own personalized horror movie.
Mckamey Manor is founded by Russ Mckamey on his property, who said he served in the Navy for 23 years and moonlights as a wedding singer, started the manor in the early 2000 , in San Diego, California as a cross between his theatrical background and his love for haunted houses.

A lot of stories were circulating among the community about what was going on in that manor. The stories were dark and bone chilling to say the least. Due to them, the survival horror event had become famous as a real life chamber run by a psycho. Also, the attraction had to be relocated to different locations Alabama and Tennessee.
Thrill-seekers were going into this manor looking for a fun time and an adrenaline rush only to leave with both mental and physical scars. Therefore, you should know what you are getting yourself into because Mckamey Manor is not like your regular horror or haunted house. It sure is a unique immersive experience.
This place has paid actors that legally can and will choke you, gag you, force you to eat disgusting substances like human hair or cockroaches and make you meet your deepest and darkest fears.
You are probably thinking who in their right mind would want to live this horrible experience but there are alot of thrill-seekers who want to. In 2015, there was a waiting list of about 27000 people from all over the world that want to gain access to the Manor. Mckamey set a prize of 20000 Dollars to win for whomever will make it through the full eight-hour nightmare full of assault and violence. But no one has ever made it through.
Let me grab your attention to something that there’s no charge to enter the gaming Manor. Yes you read it right, you are not mistaken. All the owner requests is bring a bag of dog food on the day of the event. So basically, you don’t need to spend any penny and in exchange, you get a fair amount of money if you don’t give up and experience the whole thing.

However, before anyone can enter the manor, they have to do a physical exam. Then there’s a background check, a phone screen, a drug test and a 40-page waiver signed by the participant. Where in article 19 and 20, it’s mentioned that the participant was warned to not do this and he or she agrees and understands that it’s just a game.
If all goes according to the plan, The experience begins when Russ and his crew of actors blindfold guests and throw them into a red, windowless red van. It’s known in the neighbourhood as ‘the kidnap van’ and has a license plate that reads ‘Djparty’.
Once you’re inside, there are two rules : do not curse or hit the actors .
