“For them, the only good Muslim is the one that is no longer one” François Burgat
When i say France what is the first thing that comes to mind? is it the age of enlightenment , The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre…. Personally, I would say cheese, Charles aznavour, Disney land and ISLAMOPHOBIA.
Well the concept of islamophobia is easy to understand it’s a religious discrimination that has been increasing in an exponential rate since years. Now the problem is when it converts from silly judgments to a governmental regime. In fact, people like the French minister Gerarld Darmanin and other members of the French parliament find it appropriate declaring their shock when seeing the part of halal food in the supermarket or when dealing with women wearing a hijab.
I mean how dare we have a special space in their country?... democracy is not for everyone you know.
This hate speech did nothing but feeding extremist ideology, which helped creating a whole wave of religious terrorism that found its way into many minds (not just Muslims). Recently, the 18 years old boy killed the French teacher for showing funny cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. Guess who was directly fingered? ISLAM
Based on that, most Muslims expressed their refusal on radios, tvs and social medias. Precisely by changing their profile pictures, tweeted and posted hashtags… Some started a boycotting campaign to all French products, which is difficult for some developing countries (low productivity) like Tunisia, simply because France is our essential trade partner so it occupies nearly 20% of the market.
These actions may be a pain in the ass for all islamophobics, but it will never prevent governments from treating Muslims as terrorists until they are proved wrong. That’s why we need a radical solution that could put an end to this eternal conflict (other than trying to be a developed country and having a powerful position among the leaders of the world, because it obviously will take forever.)
we can start by wondering if the freedom of speech is absolute? I mean could we consider making fun of Sanctities acceptable? Well, I believe that it depends on the definition of sanctity, its limits, who defines it and most importantly the common mindset of the believers.
Actually, what is sacred for a Muslim is God and the prophet Mohammed that is determined by the holy book Quran. In simpler words, disrespecting them would be more crucial than insulting his own mother. Certainly, that goes for all religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Christianity, Taoism, and Judaism.
furthermore, resorting to violence in order to prove a point or protect a right is not only immoral but it also weakens Muslims’ position, more importantly islam is the religion of forgiveness and mercy. in fact, the prophet exonerated his opponents insults (throwing rocks, dirt (bowel of a camel), calling him bad names ( a witch) and even trying to kill him.)
To sum up, we should be aware that this conflict is indeed created by capitalists and money slaves in order to serve their own interests, and that any religion should be respected unconditionally.
